Itinerary
This is a comprehensive 14-day, 13-night tour designed for nature and adventure lovers. It traverses some of Ecuador's most spectacular landscapes, from the Avenue of the Volcanoes and the Amazon to the cloud forests of Mindo. It's an active itinerary that combines hiking, culture, and wildlife watching.
Departure: 7:00 a.m. from Quito

🦋Visit to the Butterfly Farm: Discover the magic of colorful butterflies in a unique natural setting.
🌊 Hike to the Waterfall: Enjoy a tour through the cloud forest to a beautiful waterfall. Optional: Tarabita (rustic cable car) or canopy for the more adventurous.
🍴 Traditional Lunch: Sampling of local flavors.
🍫 Visit to the Chocolate Factory: Learn about the artisanal process of Ecuadorian cacao, from bean to chocolate.
🚐 Return to Quito: Arrival at approximately 6:00 pm

Departure: 08:00 from Quito.
🚐 Scenic Drive: Travel south along the majestic Avenue of the Volcanoes to enter Cotopaxi National Park.
🥾 Trek to José Rivas Refuge (4,864 m): From the parking lot (4,600 m), we’ll hike approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach the iconic refuge. Here, we’ll rest and enjoy a hot drink while admiring the breathtaking Andean landscapes.
🌋 Limpiopungo Lagoon: We’ll continue to this picturesque lagoon, where we’ll take a gentle walk and enjoy time for photographs with Cotopaxi Volcano in the background.
🏛️ Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center: Visit to learn more about the park’s geology, flora, and fauna.
🍴 Traditional Lunch included: A delicious local meal to recharge after the adventure.
🌙 In the afternoon: After our visit, we’ll continue to our lodge to rest and prepare for the next day’s journey.

🌋 Quilotoa Crater Lake: Arrival at the stunning turquoise lake. We’ll hike down to the lagoon (approx. 1 hour) and later hike back up (approx. 1h30), enjoying incredible landscapes of the Andean highlands.
- 🍴 Lunch included: A well-deserved traditional meal after the hike.
- 🎨 Tigua Community: Visit this renowned community of indigenous painters, famous for their colorful artwork that reflects Andean life and landscapes.
- 🌄 Toachi Canyon: Short stop to admire the breathtaking views of this dramatic canyon carved by the river.
🌙 Evening: Continue to our lodge for rest and preparation for the next day’s adventure.

🌲 Swing at the End of the World: Unique experience with panoramic valley views. Options to take photos and enjoy the scenery without physical effort.

🖐️ “Manos de la Pachamama” Viewpoint: Admire Baños illuminated at night and the surrounding mountains from an accessible spot.
🚐 Transfer to hotel: Return to the hotel for rest, dinner included, and preparation for the next day.

🌅 Early Morning:
🚐 Departure from Baños de Agua Santa in comfortable transportation toward Misahuallí, a charming town on the banks of the Napo River.
🛑 Stop in Misahuallí:
- Time to relax and stretch your legs.
- Observe monkeys approaching the town and enjoy the peaceful Amazonian scenery.
- Option to enjoy coffee or refreshments in a calm atmosphere.
🛣️ Transfer to Cuyabeno:
- Continue the journey to the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve.
- Estimated travel time: 8–9 hours total from Misahuallí, including stops in Tena and Lago Agrio, with a final motorized canoe transfer to the lodge within the reserve.
- Rest stops are included throughout the journey for comfort and convenience.
- Option to rest longer in Misahuallí or halfway if needed for a more relaxed pace.

We'll take an afternoon hike along the Ceibo Trail. Our guide will explain everything you need to know about the flora and fauna of the Cuyabeno Reserve. After the hike, we'll return to the lodge for lunch. Afterward, we can go fishing in the Cuyabeno River. We'll return to the lodge, and in the evening, we can take a nighttime canoe ride on the river that surrounds the camp. We'll have dinner at approximately 7:00 PM and rest for a day full of activities.
Breakfast at 08:00 AM. Then we will go into the primary forest where our guides will give us talks and transmit their ancestral knowledge of the medicinal plants and the fauna that exists in the forest, here we will find the footprints of the Tapir, Paca, Armadillo, Puma etc. This walk can take us approximately 4 or 5 hours. Lunch - In the afternoon we will sail upriver to practice rowing in traditional canoes (Quillas). Dinner. At night, after dinner, we will do a night walk to see nocturnal animals, such as spiders, toads and tree snakes, we will also turn off our flashlights to be able to hear the sounds of the jungle. This walk takes about 40 minutes.
Breakfast at 7:30 am. Then, we will set off in the canoe towards the Lagunas complex with an impressive route, observing during the journey, different species of animals and birds such as Monkeys, Hoatzins, Herons, River Ducks, Kingfishers etc. and with a lot of luck, the sloths. Once in Laguna Grande, we can enjoy the surroundings and we will observe Pink Dolphins. In the lagoon, we can also see the flooded forest, where we will try to find the Anacondas. In La Hormiga (Laguna Grande) we will look for a suitable place to serve us an appetizing box lunch. Then, we will go down the river to visit the Siona Community. In this visit we will be able to learn how they live and what they do on a normal day, then we will go with a family to prepare YUCA BREAD or CASABE in the traditional way (you can camp in the lagoon – optional activity). On our way back in the afternoon we will take a refreshing bath in the very center of the lagoon and watch the sunset. At a suitable time our guide will suggest the return to the camp. Dinner and accommodation.
Very early in the morning, we will go birdwatching (optional). Remember to let your guide know the night before so they can wake you up for this activity. During this tour, you may see toucans, macaws, and parrots. Breakfast. At 8:00 a.m., we will then head to the Cuyabeno Bridge, where we will board a private vehicle that will take us to Quito. Once in Quito, we will rest here to recharge our batteries, as the next morning we will take a flight to the Galapagos Islands.

Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/-
We will have breakfast at the hotel at 7:00 a.m. and then transfer to Mariscal Sucre Airport for a flight to Baltra (approx. 2–3 hours). Upon arrival, we will transfer to Puerto Ayora and check in at Galapagos Dreams Hotel, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, including the turtle breeding center, see giant tortoises and land iguanas in captivity, and spot endemic Galapagos birds along the trail. Return to the hotel for dinner.
In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, we'll visit the Santa Cruz Highlands, where we'll observe giant tortoises in their natural habitat and explore a volcanic tunnel with stalactites. We'll then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Tortuga Bay in the afternoon, walking along its white-sand beaches, birdwatching, and having the opportunity to swim or relax. At the end of the day, we'll return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Morning: Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. at the hotel, then sail to Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island (approx. 2.5 hours). Visit the Arnaldo Tupiza Breeding Center to see giant tortoises of different ages, followed by a stop at a flamingo pool. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Explore Las Tintoreras Islet by boat, observing sea lions, marine iguanas, lava lizards, finches, white-tip sharks, Galapagos penguins, and blue-footed boobies. Optional snorkeling. Return to Puerto Ayora, check in at the hotel, and enjoy dinner.
Departure from Puerto Ayora: Board a comfortable boat with a naturalist guide.
Shark Channel: Observe whitetip sharks and birds such as lava herons.
Love Channel: Cruise through a narrow channel surrounded by mangroves, ideal for taking photos.
Playa de los Perros: Short walk (15-20 minutes) to observe marine iguanas and birds.
Las Grietas: Snorkel in crystal-clear waters surrounded by rock formations; chance to swim with sea turtles, tropical fish, and sea lions.
Return to Puerto Ayora: End of the tour with transfer to your hotel.
Santa Cruz Island - Baltra Island In the morning: Gemelos – Baltra Airport We will have breakfast at the hotel at 8:00 a.m., then transfer to the airport with a brief visit to Los Gemelos, which are considered crater holes formed by a collapse where we will find a Scalesia forest. These small craters are located on either side of the road to Baltra Airport. We will then arrive at Baltra Airport to catch our return flight to Quito.
