Itinerary
Arrival in Quito Welcome, the capital of Ecuador! Start your trip by arriving at Mariscal Sucre International Airport. You will be greeted by your tour guide, who will take you to the Selina Hotel. After checking in, you will have free time to relax for the rest of the day.
We start the day with a delicious breakfast at 08:00 in the morning in the hotel cafeteria. Then we head towards the Old Town of Quito, with a travel time of approximately 40 min to the center of Quito, to explore its cobbled streets and colonial architecture. Basilica of the National Vow (La Basílica del Voto Nacional), then we go to the Plaza de San Francisco where we can visit the church and its surroundings, continuing with the tour, we will head towards the Church of the Company of Jesus, part of the architecture of the center of Quito, the tour takes approximately 5 hours, in the afternoon at 2:00 pm, we will go to enjoy lunch at a restaurant with typical food in the historic center, to continue with our tour of the churches and the colonial center, with a time of approximately 4 hours, End your day with dinner at and then take a walk along La Ronda Street, known for its nightlife and bohemian atmosphere. Back to the hotel to rest.
We have breakfast at the hotel restaurant at 6:30 in the morning, after breakfast we will prepare to embark on our private transportation heading towards the Cotopaxi volcano with a time of approximately 2:30 hours, to the Cotopaxi National Park, already in the national park we will take the walk through it, with a time of approximately 2:00 hours, followed by that we will embark towards the Quilotoa lagoon with a time of approximately 2:30 hours, here we will tour the part of the lagoon, travel time 2:00 hours, after this we will board our transportation heading towards Latacunga this tour lasts 1:30 minutes, already in the afternoon in the city of Latacunga we will proceed to go to do the check-in at our hotel, here you can have some food to rest and spend the night here.
Breakfast at the hotel in Latacunga at 07:30, then we embark towards Baños de Agua Santa, this tour will last approximately 02:00, once we arrive at Baños, we will go with our guide to check in at the hotel, after this we will begin our tour of Baños in the Devil's Pailon, with an approximate time of 40 minutes of journey and here we will go down to the pailon and enjoy the fauna and the waterfall that are located here, with a travel time of 40 minutes, then we will go by chiva towards the hands of the Pachamama, this tour lasts 30 minutes, here you can take photos, observe the mountains, the city of Baños from the top of the mountain, this tour lasts 1 hour, after this we will leave towards the route of the magic village and in this place we will be able to observe and meet the magical and ancestral beings that live in the forests of this city with a travel time of 2 hours, after this tour we will return to the city so you can have lunch at a restaurant serving typical food from Baños, with a time of approximately 1:00, after this you will have the rest of the afternoon and evening so you can do free activities, such as walks around the city and nightlife.
Breakfast at the hotel, 07:00, boarding private transportation for a visit to the Shuar community located in Puerto Misahualli this tour lasts 03:00 hours, already in the community we will carry out the activities of crafts, dance and music, an energy cleansing ceremony with a shaman of the community, after this we will take a walk to a sacred rock the duration of this journey is 03:00 hours, we will have lunch in the Shuar community with a time of 01:00 hour, after this we will embark towards the city of Puyo with a travel time of 03:00, already in the city we will check in at the hotel to be able to rest and have dinner in the same,
We will have breakfast at the hotel in Puyo at 07:30 in the morning, and then proceed to board our next destination, which would be to reach Lago Agrio, from there continue on the route to the Cuyabeno bridge where our local guide will be waiting for us to take us to our Lodge. Trip of approximately 07:30 hours. After traveling by bus to the Cuyabeno bridge, (check in) our guide will be waiting to pick you up and board the canoes that will take us to our campsite Cuyabeno River Lodge. After dinner, we will take the adaptation walk along the Ceibos Trail for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. After the walk, we will have a talk for the next day's activities.
Breakfast at 08:00 AM. Then we will go into the primary forest where our guides will give us talks and transmit their ancestral knowledge of the medicinal plants and the fauna that exists in the forest, here we will find the footprints of the Tapir, Paca, Armadillo, Puma etc. This walk can take us approximately 4 or 5 hours. Lunch - In the afternoon we will sail upriver to practice rowing in traditional canoes (Quillas). Dinner. At night, after dinner, we will do a night walk to see nocturnal animals, such as spiders, toads and tree snakes, we will also turn off our flashlights to be able to hear the sounds of the jungle. This walk takes about 40 minutes.
Breakfast at 7:30 am. Then, we will set off in the canoe towards the Lagunas complex with an impressive route, observing during the journey, different species of animals and birds such as Monkeys, Hoatzins, Herons, River Ducks, Kingfishers etc. and with a lot of luck, the sloths. Once in Laguna Grande, we can enjoy the surroundings and we will observe Pink Dolphins. In the lagoon, we can also see the flooded forest, where we will try to find the Anacondas. In La Hormiga (Laguna Grande) we will look for a suitable place to serve us an appetizing box lunch. Then, we will go down the river to visit the Siona Community. In this visit we will be able to learn how they live and what they do on a normal day, then we will go with a family to prepare YUCA BREAD or CASABE in the traditional way (you can camp in the lagoon – optional activity). On our way back in the afternoon we will take a refreshing bath in the very center of the lagoon and watch the sunset. At a suitable time our guide will suggest the return to the camp. Dinner and accommodation.
After breakfast, we will continue our expedition in the primary forest of the Cuyabeno Reserve on the different trails in the northern part. Lunch. We will go sailing upriver to observe animals. Dinner and accommodation at the lodge.
Very early in the morning, we will go bird watching (optional activity). Remember to tell the guide the night before to wake you up so you can go do this activity. During this trip, you will be able to see TOUCANS, MACAWS AND PARROTS. Breakfast. At 11:30 AM, we will head to the Cuyabeno Bridge where we will board the direct bus that will take us to the city of Lago Agrio or Quito. Once in Quito, we will rest here to regain our strength, since the next morning we will take a flight to the Galapagos Islands.
In the morning we will have breakfast at the hotel at 07:00 in the morning and then leave for the Mariscal Sucre airport where we will take the flight to Baltra Airport with an approximate time of 2-3 hours. Once we arrive at the islands we will do the – Transfer to Puerto Ayora – Accommodation at the Galapagos Dreams hotel – Lunch. One of the company's naturalist guides will be waiting to accompany you to Puerto Ayora, the tourist capital of this Archipelago, where we can stay in one of the local hotels. After enjoying lunch we will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station. In the afternoon: Visit to the Charles Darwin Station. (Turtle breeding center) We will walk approximately ten minutes until we reach the entrance of the Galapagos National Park, where we will visit the giant tortoises in captivity on the islands of Santiago, Española, Pinzón, Floreana and Santa Cruz. In addition, we will observe land iguanas in captivity on Baltra Island. Along the trail we can find endemic birds of the Galapagos such as: Galapagos mockingbirds, flycatchers, Darwin's finches. We will return to the hotel and then go to dinner.
In the morning: Tortuga Bay Beach Breakfast at the hotel at 08:00 in the morning, then we will walk on a 1.5 km long path to the beach where we will see typical vegetation of the arid zone of the island and in particular the tallest cactus trees of the Galapagos that can grow up to twelve meters high, lava lizards, various types of birds (finches, mockingbirds, flycatchers, canaries). Upon arrival we will enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches of the Galapagos Islands, whose name originates from being one of the nesting areas of sea turtles, famous for its white sand of coral formation; at the end of the first beach we will find marine iguanas that belong to the darkest subspecies of the Galapagos Islands and we will have the opportunity to swim and relax on the beach. Upon returning from our visit to the beach we will enjoy our lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon: Upper part of Santa Cruz We will take a bus for approximately thirty-five minutes to reach one of the ranches in the upper part of Santa Cruz Island where we will see the famous giant tortoises in their natural state. In the same area we will have the opportunity to walk through a volcanic tunnel in which we will find stalactites. We will return to the hotel and then go to dinner at a restaurant.
In the morning: Breeding Center, Flamingo Pool, Las Tintoreras Breakfast will be served at the hotel at 08:00 in the morning; after this we will set sail to Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island, on a navigation of approximately two and a half hours. A local transport will be waiting for us to take us on our tour which we will begin at the Arnaldo Tupiza Breeding Center, where we will find giant tortoises from Isabela Island in captivity of different sizes according to age, from newborns to giant tortoises; then we will visit a pool where we will find flamingos in their natural state. We will have lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon: Las Tintoreras Islet We will take a wooden boat from the main dock to the islet called Las Tintoreras, where we will enjoy the presence of sea lions, marine iguanas, lava lizards, finches, and the possibility of observing white-tip sharks locally called Tintoreras in a volcanic channel. On our return trip from the boat we will observe the famous Galapagos penguins resting on the rocks near the sea after their daily work and at the same time the blue-footed boobies. After our tour of the islet we will have the opportunity to snorkel. We will return to Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island) to go to the hotel and then to the restaurant for dinner.
Santa Cruz Island - Baltra Island In the morning: Gemelos – Baltra Airport We will have breakfast at the hotel at 08:00 in the morning, transfer to the airport with a short visit to Los Gemelos, which are considered crater holes formed by a subsidence in which we will find a forest of Scalesia, these small craters are located on each side of the road to the Baltra airport. Next, we will arrive at the Baltra airport to be able to take the flight back to Quito, and once back at the Quito Mariscal Sucre airport, we will transport you to the hotel so you can have dinner and rest.
Breakfast at the hotel at 07:30 in the morning, followed by this we will embark on our last day of our tour this has a duration time until Otavalo of approx 02:00 hours of route, for this day we have prepared a visit to the city of Otavalo so you can make some purchases in the poncho market since this place is very typical, for its crafts as well as the characteristic clothing of the different communities that are in this area, this tour will last approximately 02:00, after this we will visit one of the restaurants in the city so you can serve a typical lunch of the city with a time of 01:00 hour, as the last stretch before returning to the city of Quito we will visit the Puguche waterfall, in this place you can observe flora and fauna distinctive of this site travel time approximately 01:30 hours, after this we will make the transfer to Quito to finish our tour.
