Itinerary
We will leave at 08:00 a.m. from the hotel to the base of Ruco Pichincha in our private car, upon arrival we will take the cable car to 4,100 meters above sea level; Here we will have a panoramic view of Quito and the other Andean peaks in the area. We will have a walk of approximately 3 hours through the mountain. Total tour time: 6 hours. -/L/D.
Leaving our lodge at 10:00 am, we will head to Cotopaxi National Park. Upon entering the park, we will head towards the Limpiopungo lagoon where we will begin our ascent to the Rumiñahui volcano; It will take us about 3 hours to reach the top. This volcano is very rocky and inclined, for this reason we will put on our safety equipment; When we finally reach the top, we will have a fantastic view of Cotopaxi: tomorrow's goal. Next, we will descend to the Paja Blanca shelter, where we will spend the night. B/L/D.
We will leave Quito around 10:00 am. In our private 4x4 vehicle we headed east to begin our ascent to Antisana. After a 3-hour trip, we will arrive at a campsite to rest until midnight. Then we will have an appetizing lunch, and we will receive a short talk about all the safety precautions and climbing technique that the guides can give us. We will have dinner at 6:00 pm and then go to rest until 12:00 am for the climb. B/L/D.
We will wake up, and we will climb to the top; which is at 5,753 m. It will take us approximately 5 to 6 hours to reach the summit; When we arrive we can enjoy a great view of the Ecuadorian mountains.
