Carihuayrazo-Chimborazo 4 Days/ 3 Nights

Our adventure begins in the morning leaving Quito at 5:00 a.m. and heading in our private transportation to Riobamba. We will continue our journey to the Chimborazo Fauna Reserve, where we will complete the entry registration. Once we arrive at the refuge at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level, we will enjoy lunch and prepare for our acclimatization activities, as well as the next day's ascent. Afterwards, we will have dinner and rest for the night.

We will get up at midnight to have breakfast before embarking on our approximately 4 and a half hour hike to the summit, located at an altitude of 5,018 meters above sea level. During the ascent, we will have the opportunity to marvel at impressive landscapes and contemplate the majestic volcanoes such as Chimborazo and Tungurahua. After enjoying this natural spectacle, we will descend for about 3 to 4 hours to the refuge, where we will collect all our equipment before returning to our car and finally heading back to the hotel to rest.

In our private 4x4 vehicle we will head towards the Chimborazo volcano to begin our ascent. Then we will go to the first refuge which is located at 4800 meters above sea level and then walk 200 meters to the second refuge which is located at 5000 meters above sea level. Then we will have an appetizing box lunch, and we will receive a short talk about all the safety precautions and climbing technique that the guides can give us. We will have dinner at 6:00 pm and then go to rest until 12:00 am for the climb.

We will wake up at midnight and have breakfast, and then climb to Whymper Peak; which is at 6,310 meters above sea level. It will take us approximately 7 to 8 hours to reach this peak; but when we arrive, it will be worth the effort, you will be able to have a unique view of all the Andes. It will take us about 3 to 4 hours to return to the shelter where we will collect all our equipment and return to our car, and return to Quito. B/L/-
