They respected each other, yet they had never met face to face.<\/p><p>One afternoon, after a great storm, the river overflowed and flooded the Jaguar\u2019s territory. Furious to see his forest drowned, the Jaguar roared so loudly that the trees trembled. Why do you challenge the waters?\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"841\" data-end=\"975\">The Jaguar growled proudly:<br data-start=\"868\" data-end=\"871\" \/>\u2014\u201cYour river has invaded my jungle. The earth belongs to me, and you have covered it with your tears.\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"1169\">The Anaconda smiled calmly and replied:<br data-start=\"1016\" data-end=\"1019\" \/>\u2014\u201cThe water gives life to your jungle. Without it, there would be no prey to hunt, no leaves to shade you. The Anaconda slowly coiled around him, not to crush him, but to show her strength.<\/p><p data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1477\">\u2014\u201cWe are not enemies, Jaguar,\u201d she whispered. \u201cWe are part of the same spirit of the forest. You rule what is seen; I rule what is hidden.\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"1479\" data-end=\"1558\">The Jaguar understood.
